Every farm on one file: what it farms, each month's counts and sales, its water, power and roads, its visits and its store. Said once by the farmer, seen whole by the officer.
For agricultural agencies, co-operatives and farmer programmes, and the farmers they support.
1 Set up the farm
The farmer says what the farm has in one sentence, Mothusi reads it into the herd, the count, what is for sale and the price, asks the one thing a buyer will ask, and the farm is on file with one next thing to do.

2 On the farm
Seven questions cover water and its source, Eskom, solar, a generator, the road and the fencing, each answered with a tap, and the inspector rates the same list on the next visit.

3 Every month
The farmer gives each commodity's count, births, deaths, sales and a health rating, and Mothusi works out the closing number and shows every commodity's month on one page.

4 The farm store
A lot listed on the marketplace shows its photo, price and the date it is ready, and a buyer taps once to open WhatsApp with the lot and the price in the message, or asks for a quote.

5 Site visits
On the day the inspector works through each herd, crop and asset with photos, a count beside the farmer's own, documents seen or missing and findings, and Mothusi writes the report.

6 Read as a business
Kabelo Farm's broilers are on day 27 of 42 with mortality in range, feed runs short four days before the 18 November sale, and the financial records stop at May, so the programme reads production and the business separately.

7 Two farms, one score
Kabelo Farm and Naledi Farm both score 46: one needs feed this week, the other needs a first buyer, and each gets the next move its own file points to, not the same course.

8 The whole network
Across 842 farms, June revenue of R5.41m is 78% backed by uploaded records, 519 farms are selling, 46 support requests are open, and the risks are named by district with the response already routed.

9 Reporting rhythm
At month end 674 have reported, 92 are in progress and 76 are overdue with a reason and a person on each line, and the three that need a call are ticked and messaged from the list.

What a farm can keep
A herd with its breed, count, sex, age range, purpose, weights, vaccination and grazing area, counted every month with births, deaths and sales.
Sheep, goats and pigs, with breed, count, sex, age range, purpose and vaccination, counted the same way each month.
Layers and broilers with flock size, breed, eggs a month, the month hatched and the month ready for sale.
Fruit, vegetables, maize and wheat, with hectares, irrigation, planting and harvest months, seedlings and expected yield.
